Have you ever planted like this?

We the human being is said to be around 200000 years old after earth originated 4 billions years ago. Even then due to ignorance and desires we have shaped the face of earth enough to get it disappear. Trees originated 4 billions years ago from the ancestor cyno-bacteria and it have given many of the luxury above all the life to all living beings. But with the wants and selfishness of people its getting reduce year after year. Many countries, dedicated people and farsighted leaders are doing their best to protect their beautiful environment while many other go for development producing many industries year after year.

How lucky we are,the humans to be born on this mother earth and how lucky we Bhutanese are to breath fresh air and drink clean water of this land. The land itself is gifted with many beautiful trees all over and with great leaders its 70% of forest is under forest coverage. But its not enough for us to stand proudly and say that we have many forest coverage rather we must plant enough to make our future generation proudly smile for our legacy.

Today we the 23rd forester of CNR had practically applied the lesson that is taught in the class. Plantation is defined as forest crop raised naturally or artificially through seed or seedlings. To have better growth of trees and have success of plantation the soil has to be clearly determined and moreover have to know the limiting factors of the site. The soil has to be sandy loam or loamy.

The main objective of the class is to plant Ziziphus mauritiana. Its called as Khankhara shing in sharcop and its fruit taste good when it has ripped. After the fruit has ripped the cover is tear off and washed to extract the seeds.

After the soil has been thoroughly mixed we had filled it in the hycopots and planted aroud 2-3 seed in it. The reason behind for planting two seed is to choose the best seedling after it has germinated.

Then the hycopots is labelled and taken to nursery and watered well to make sure the seed remains moist but not wet.

The seed in hycopot is filled with sandy loam soil.
